Did UHC give unused vacation to those let go? And what about unpaid QVC?
If you still have Bravo points you can still redeem..call here 1-844-732-5501
The press coverage, the timeframes for MOVE have been covered. If people stop making 50 threads it wouldn't be so hard to see new posts.
Here is a little press coverage:

We need legislation blocking US based companies from offshoring!!! Block it or make it so expensive that it is not financially feasible.
Use your own brain people, why would they tell you that yes we will be laying many people off in phases, they know people will leave.
Is it confirmed more layoffs are occurring? I asked the director and was told not to worry but based in all responses there are more lay offs coming in phases
Who cares if they are monitoring the site, they are laying people off anyway. Trying to discourage us from communicating. They won’t give us any information. Lie to us and say they don’t know anything about lay offs so the can keep us working while they lay off more each day. If we don’t communicate with each other, that’s more people they will blindside and leave in the dark. We need to keep this going and consistent so we can take whatever action necessary.
The layoffs for October, November & March have been in play for at least 4 weeks. Some folks were told that they were being let go ahead of time but it sounds like some managers were not forthcoming. The move to send technical jobs offshore is about their bottom line and you are foolish to think you’re individual contributions or loyalty matters.
Who are the people downvoting the posts with information? Do they understand that the posts are useful and to upvote, or is management monitoring the site and downvoting every post?

The Duluth site is looking pretty empty these days... I heard there were some employees let go yesterday. I wonder how safe the call center is right now. This is making me quite nervous. How do they decide who they're letting go?
Not sure it will do anything, those laid off nothing can be undone but maybe by bringing this to the public’s attention it can prevent further if there truly is. If everyone impacted can just share with their local news and Minneapolis where the main offices are this site and maybe a few screenshot of the specific post regarding 3 parts and the fact if there is a federal law they may be trying to avoid. Not sure it will impact anything or even be of concern to the various news outlets but worth a shot.
They're doing it in these "waves" to skirt a federal law (see below) and to keep it from the news. If they keep the numbers on the smaller side on each occasion. They accomplish that goal. One would have to have knowledge/proof that they know of these layoffs ahead of time and are planning them this way for this purpose.
Federal Law Requires Advance Notice of Mass Layoffs
The federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act requires employers with 100 or more employees to give at least 60 days' notice before conducting a mass layoff: a reduction in force in which at least 500 employees at a single job site will lose their jobs, or in which 50 to 499 employees lose their jobs if they make up at least one-third of the employer’s work force.
Employers must also give 60 days’ notice of plant closings: the shutdown of a single employment site, operating unit, or facility, in which at least 50 employees lose their jobs.
The WARN Act requires only that employers give notice; it doesn’t protect employees from layoffs, nor does it require employers to pay any severance. Some states have similar laws requiring notice, and a few require employers to pay a small amount of severance. See State Laws on Plant Closings to learn more.
someone needs to take this to the news or something. this is so unfair. all they care about is money!! they aren't even upfront about what theyre doing. but i bet if the news gets a hold of this they will be forced to come out with a better truth
My mom was let go yesterday and she worked there probably 12-13 years? She is getting 20 weeks of severance pay in a lump sum.
Apparently they just got everyone on a call and said your last day is October 16. No warning, nobody knew it was coming.
Why would people stop posting here? Are you doing the firing?
Unless people were actually let go yesterday vs. Given a date of termination then they shouldn't post on social media yet. I think you can get fired for that type of thing and then you would lose severance. After these massive cuts - i wouldn't put if past them.
They should be called out on Facebook , twitter, and websites like indeed or monster where you can write reviews for companies.
Does anyone know if there is a FB group for UHC layoffs? It would be helpful to gather and share information with other people affected.
Nurses beware! Check the job postings on Indeed for nurses, location Manila. Zero postings for the States, unless you are a NP.
I really hope they are paying the severance that is outlined in the policy. Someone below mentioned they worked for 15 years but they get 3 weeks. According to the severance plan they should be getting between 14-16 depending on their grade level. If they are seriously foregoing the policy that would be highly unethical and worry me greatly as a current employee. Can someone confirm whether they are following the severance policy?
I am so disgusted with uhc right now. I have anxiety about starting work today. Just this past week we were made to watch a 5 minute video where our slimeball CFO casually mentioned cutting costs. He started off with saying it was for our members but then real quickly added that it was to plan for automation.
Ive heard that CAPS have been handed out like candy .. Assuming that is to fire vs. Lay off and to ensure that representatives can't apply for other positions.
The only people getting jobs are in ireland, Philippines, and India. Uhc was given a huge tax cut just to outsource.
The public has to know about this. #uhclayoff or #unitedhealth should be plastered all over social media.. This should be trending and they should be exposed.
What a literal nightmare. Holding my breath, waiting to be let go today. If not today, then soon. UHC is reprehensible, and delusional, always pushing their their fake culture agenda. Best of luck to all let go, those left behind with double the workload, and those about to get fired.
I hope India delivers more c-appy code that sends 500 eobs to members and makes the news again. Leadership s—s and has no clue nor inspires confidence. Best wishes to those impacted. I’m sure my days are numbered
Being laid off really s—s!
There are a lot of additional cuts forthcoming, the Clinical teams will be hit hard.
During the call today (for employees not let go) we were told that everyone was given 2 weeks notice but did not have to work the 2 weeks and would still be paid as well as a severance package.
Why don’t they have to follow the severance policy outlined in our handbook? That makes this so much worse. It’s not as if the company isn’t making money. This is pure greed. I get it that companies make changes to the staffing, but how can they excuse not giving the amount of severance people have earned through their years of service? That’s unconscionable.
I was part of meeting today where we were kept from C&S department telecommute for anyone who was laid off today this is not how a company should treat there employees I wish anyone who was impacted the best of luck and praying for you all. I also heard about the three waves but in the meeting they stated this was the only one with no future dates for anymore lay-offs is in effect at this time . My heart is definitely with anyone impacted by the job loss this is so sad may you all find better job security!!!!
Today almost all sups were terminated except 3, all trainers except 2, all workforce except 2, some regular agents and management is saying that it is not going to happen again. This is in NMT Transportation department. Utah.
What a horrible and sad day for so many dedicated, loyal and knowledgeable UHC Employees. UHC used to be such a great place to work and really valued its employees. Its difficult to be proud to work for a Company that can so easily let go of so many great employees with no valid explanation. This is the biggest and worst layoff I have seen in my many years with UHC. Such a shame and very disappointing on many levels.
March Vision Care was acquired by the United Healthcare two years ago. Today 14 of us were let go with no explanation or anything. All UHC cares about is money they don't care about their employees. Management kept reassuring us last year when they did layoffs that you wouldn't be having any more. All lies!!!
I was let go today as well. I had to be walked out by my boss like a criminal. I was told they would mail my stuff from my desk to me. I already him my annual goals so clearly performance had nothing to do with it. I usually eat a couple of weeks of pto every year because I don’t want to take it at the end of the year when we are busy. I guess loyalty doesn’t matter much these days :(
We don’t have to report it to the news. Those of us that have UHC stock thru the employee stock purchase program are entitled to be on that call and have our voices heard. That’s the best way we put it before the shareholders... right there on the call while they’re all listening
Heard 2 more rounds are coming. One in November and another in March.
When is the shareholders meeting? How many more are being let go? I am reading it is going to be in 3 phases but we were told the layoffs were over
Gone from UHC today too - sad day
Good luck to all affect
They're doing it in these waves to avoid having to report it before the big shareholder meeting. Contact the local news. Let the public know.
What dept did the layoffs happen?
I was laid off today as well. 16 years. Started when I was 21 had all 4 of my babes while working there, never planned on leaving or looking for another place of employment, utterly crushed and heartbroken!
