Thread regarding Molina Healthcare Inc. layoffs

What will the Future Bring?

Hoping to avoid a lot of snarky responses, curious to know what the leadership team at Molina is saying about the future? I’m not at Molina anymore so this is a sincere inquiry not an attempt to bash anyone.

I still own some of my stock, from when I was an employee. The company seems to have forgotten how to grow its business, and it appears to have laid off or outsourced just about everything it can.

How are the lender saying that they’re going to continue to increase profits for the future? The market doesn’t seem to believe that it can. I’m hoping that the markets wrong

At this point any revenue is important of which auto assignment would represent an increase in patients and be very helpful. It seems that in Mississippi and SC there is new plays with the exchanges to increase patients. If you can not generate revenue in new states, then certainly exchanges is a way to approach sales from an organic standpoint. Unfortunately, when MHO ceased sales activity other firms stepped forward to take advantage of this type of thinking.

The largest MOH sale in their history was the PR engagement however, it is rare to have those types of engagements without a well place strategy, known players at many levels of the buy side.

Point of clarification, new business would only be announce with client approval. Sometimes there is a period of time between deal and announcement.

I understand there are some people that want to throw in the towel and others say things will be great. Does anyone have facts or statements from management?

I read where last year the CEO said he expected a billion dollars in revenue growth for 2019. He listed a bunch of opportunities...Louisiana, Hawaii, Kentucky were some.

But revenue is down, not up. What happened to those opportunities?

Thanks for any help.

We believe there are better days ahead for Molina. There are rumors on the street for months of a potential sale. The industry is consolidating so weigh this option before you sale.

Those of us left are just working to get a paycheck just like those of you who left did. Nothing is guaranteed at any job. If you left why are you still lurking this page to keep telling us what we already know. Move on with your lives. You’re wasting to much energy here.

Agree. I do not see any big action plan to improve membership. Caresourse has been advertising for months now for new membership. A donation here and there may sway voters but not our members.

thoughts and prayers to you poor s—ers that are still sticking it out at this t–d of a health plan.. I was fortunate enough to claim my life back after over 6 years at Molina - free for 15 months now and working for a "real" health plan with a future.. sure, there are no guarantees in life except death and taxes, however for those still hanging on - you are trading your life away to a company that is sinking fast.. get out. get out now.

I know those of us who are left would like to know the same thing. I can tell you on my floor it is a lot of last minute desperate efforts to please State of Ohio.
Way too many chiefs running around acting like they know what they are doing..... when they should be next to go!

Those of us left are just waiting for walking papers. The leaders lie to your face and pretend the company is on the way up. Behind the scenes I’m sure they’re sending resumes and interviewing. I want my unemployment so I can finish school or else I would leave.
