To the 20-40 who will be offered the actual Raleigh positions, recall or research the HP strategy under the current XRX HP team: use relo as way to force resignation, then change locations after a year or so to force more resignations. Saves severance and lawsuit costs. To the 500-700 who get a bogus offer (subsidiary, pay cut, general release,...) please see it for what it is. They want you out now.

Roughly right- I was told I had to move to AZ under HP. Less than six months in, told I had to move to New Jersey or else I would be considered to have voluntarily resigned. I hadn’t even sold my Rochester home yet.
