Thread regarding CVS layoffs

“Most Store Managers Are No Bueno”

Manager told me last meeting, videos were shown from last paragon conference. One of the videos showed a CVS executive saying he looses sleep at night cause of the many poor performing managers. He said “it’s getting hard to hide these poor performing managers. Made it sound like something big regarding store managers is coming next year. Has anyone heard anything about this, or has anyone seen the video?

The best part of this is the fact that if the sm/pic is not performing then the dl should be holding them responsible. If the dl is not doing that then they should be held responsible by the Rd. If the Rd is not then they should be held responsible. Followed by next level etc.

The issue is that we have poor leadership at all levels which is causing issues. Needless to say we know who is expendable so it's not like this would happen

His comment was directed to both store and pharmacy managers that are not performing well. The video should be shown during your district cascade meeting.

To the poster who said the comment was in regard to “employees across the enterprise”...you are incorrect. It was specifically aimed at Store Managers and PIC’s. You are most likely running on a positive high from the honor of being a paragon winner. Congrats on that. But it is hypocritical to tell people not to spread misinformation, when this is exactly what you did by trying to gloss over this very important detail. During this portion of the conference there was not even a mention on field management. It was specifically about the speakers frustration with store leaders having to be moved to smaller volume stores, not DL’s demotions or smaller volume districts. As a paragon winner I am also honored and thankful to the company. But my loyalty does not drive me to quell legitimate concerns... such as a directed blame on store leadership and what the “plan” is to “fix the issue”. Which was exactly the point of what this portion of the conference was about.

I was at the conference as a paragon. That is not exactly what was said. I remember the comment “there are fewer and fewer places to hide” which referred to poor performing colleagues in general across the enterprise and from field to store. They never singled out managers in particular. Please do not start rumors Based on hearsay.
