Performance Counseling on Carepass

Has any other district been harassed about not meeting your goals on carepass? In our district, you have to be on a call everyday if you don’t meet your goals. During today’s call we were told that if we are on the call 2 weeks in a row, performance counseling would start.

CVS is harassing employees about signing customers up for Carepass-most do not want to sign up for this ridiculous excuse to get $5.00 a month out of them. It is a disgrace that CVS is doing this and they should be penalized I’m under the law for this gross mistreatment of their employees.

Pharmacy technicians need to help sale Carepass, along with front store employees (we are a team). If Cooperate wants Carepass to be a success everyone needs to be involved.

Speaking of carepass, because we have aco's now, we've been told to ask people if they want carepass on the sales floor, and then if they say yes, sign them up at a register, then have them checkout at the aco. How crazy is that?? We're expecting customers to do 2 separate transactions at two different machines, just to make corporate happy. So this way they get carepass and they use the aco. It would sure be easier if they could just get carepass directly from the aco itself. This company is losing it's mind!

Unfortunately fear and threats is exactly how cvs operates.

So it depends how the manager approached the write up. Did they write you up of not selling a certain amount or not asking customers? Not asking would be a problem for you. Did they use the performance feedback option or corrective action? If it’s corrective action contact advise and counsel. You did not break a rule or policy. If it performance feedback they could use performance feedback and tie it in with not offering customers products and services which is part of your job description. However, if there are others who have sold equal, less or have not met store targets they would have to coach all of them. Disclaimer, I am a manager and no matter how bad the store is performing I do not think I would go to a coaching with this. As leaders we should be creating exciting innovative ways to get our colleagues and customers to buy in. Fear and threats only work in the short term and create poor performing teams.

Carepass is not going away. Better get everyone on board or look for some other line of work

As with all previous programs we have had to push over the years this too shall pass. Give it time and this will be replaced by something else they want us to push or focus on. And they can't write you up for trying and not succeeding. You can't make customers buy, all you can do is ask.

Corporate is getting freak-a-zoid crazy about getting carepass signups! Let’s face it... some people could sell ice to an Eskimo and others couldn’t sell water to a thirsty person. You shouldn’t be penalized for not being a good salesman, or you shouldn’t be penalized because you’re not great at schmoozing people.

Time to call advise and counsel if you r truly doing all you can do would be a hard sell for the dl to get it approved. had an employee leave store unsecured and they would only do a level one counseling.
