Will there be more cuts in November?

Any ideas?

I work at UHC and we are being transitioned under the Optum umbrella which is to be effective 1/1/2020 and have had lay offs on our side too.

Townhall this Thursday with Judy Fujimoto, for Medicare prior auth group. UHG. This should be interesting. We are all thinking this is when the hammer will fall. Telecommuting group of about 100. The writing has been on the wall for a while, cases off shored already to Philippines.... these Philippine people are pinging us asking us for help, meanwhile they’re going to have our jobs. Incredible.

Regarding Witty. Optum has been trying to transform in earnest for 3-5 years. It's going too slowly for the Board and the market share they want. Dirk was tasked with this for a few years, and it's also probably why Witty was brought in more recently. At that level you serve the board, and the board has no concept of employees as people. They are just not making money as fast as they want, and when that lags, people in the US lose jobs regardless that the company still makes record profits almost every quarter and has for decades. Consciencless layoffs, outsourcing and stealing of benefits from employees to make projections goes all the way back to the Metra takeover.

On one of the calls on Wed to address the layoffs, there was a brown nosing VP who was absolutely giddy saying that everyone was able to shake this off and is so excited to be here, blah blah

Karma is a b–ch and I hope she gets to experience this sh– as well someday.

Not sure but Whitty is now going to be over UHG as well and he seems to not really care at all about layoffs and the individual employee. Clinical and Tech under UHG may need to be on the lookout after what was done to the Optum Side.
