Thread regarding Optum layoffs

What departments are experiencing layoffs?

I’m relatively new to Optum and all of the talk about layoffs is overwhelming, especially since I don’t know all of the abbreviations. Can anyone tell me the likelihood of the telephonic case management programs being affected by layoffs?

Do not get too worried about your job because of this board specifically. Keep things in context. UHG employs over 300000 people and the layoffs did not account for even 1% of the workforce. Do keep your ears open for any signs like reorg and changing roles or reduced workload. Management leaving abruptly or leaving the company more than normal in your area could also be a sign. Keep your resume updated as we should all be doing and of course save, save, and more saving while still enjoying life.

I work for a medical group that was bought out by Optum. There have been alot of people in key roles who have chosen to exit over the last several months. The writing has been on the wall.

There is no way anyone can answer that question. There are so many departments and states just do the best work you can and hope for the best.
