Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Horrible

I worked for the same company for over 20yrs then Windstream bought us out. My director constantly bad mouthed other departments and never tried to make any improvements. Constantly blaming others and never accepting any responsibility for any issues. The health benefits were non existent and there were no bonuses or raises. I have never seen moral so low at any company. I lasted 1yr at Windstream before I resigned. Job market is quite good right now, why would anyone continue to work in that environment? Update your resume people! I recently heard from quite a few former co workers who were recently laid off.....why sit around and wait to be escorted out the door? Economy has been doing well and alot of people are hiring, but you stay on that sinking ship......

Vox was not the issue. Windstream came in and took over and it all went downhill from there. Nuvox was in the red making money. Our procedures and policies got orders through along with the great customer care. It went to H#ll when Windstream came in and took us back 10 years. Jnorris wouldn't play ball with Windstream because he could see their processes s—ed so they fired him and it went slam down hill ever since. So you are 100% my friend.

VOX was pure garbage. Just sell it install it and customer turns it off. Rinse repeat. It was a retirement home for ATT burnouts/washouts. Just think if we had put that money in our network. We would have happy paying customers. Not EOL garbage like our ........

When Windstream acquired Nuvox and adopted their strategies we began the downward spiral. Vox brought in so much overhead and people who kept saying they could do it better. Then Paetec happens, same thing, We can do it better. I’ll say both had some good things but the bad outweighs the positive. Paetec was the cancer and EarthLink was the pneumonia that k–led us.

Before all the great processes it was nothing to get services installed in a couple
Of weeks. Good luck getting an order accepted in less than a month now.

At least you get a severance. Would s— to leave and then your coworkers get a severance a month or two later.

I agree 100%. too many of us resist change until we're kicked out of the nest. I had become disillusioned to the point of taking classes in a related field several months ago. The writing was on the wall. Regardless of how much cheer-leading LL does, we peons know he's happy bc he just got another 50 grand in the bank.
Thank you, Windstream, for pushing me into a better place to work.
