HEALTHcare company managed by GED’s LOL

This unlicensed DL, and other higher ranking positions Being occupied by people that have absolutely 0 knowledge of being a pharmacist or the work that goes into it. This is beyond ridiculous that a person who is not a pharmacist can hold you accountable for your professional work. This Is so unheard of that I can’t even think of another job where your boss can be a person that never worked in your shoes before neither do they know your job, how can they hold you accountable. Healthcare company needs healthcare leaders, all the way to the top.

You get promoted based on merit And your ability to manage and lead a team. That is something a pharmacist just won't do. Half of you won't even come off the bench to help customers. You don't get promoted based on entitlement

How about young broke pharmacists, still paying school loans being placed in DL roles over accomplished pharmacists that have doing the job before the DL was born and at high levels . Sounds like wisdom does not take years of experience , you can be wise now at age 20 something ! That is the problem, promoting cowards not leaders with wisdom. They will never stand up for you , and have no idea it needs to be different. The way it is now is all they know

Pharmacist DLs haven't got a clue. They can count pills and know everything about pharmacy but stink at being managers.

Pharmacist DLs aren't empathetic what so ever.

Use your strengths to cover their weaknesses and their strengths to cover your weaknesses. My DL handles HR related things for the PM but looks to a licensed DL or a tenured PM when it comes to RX legal questions or procedural things.

I felt the same way when we first went to the DL role... but my unlicensed DL is 100x better than my previous pharmacy supervisor. He might not know all the clinical aspects of DURs but he’s a far better leader than any rph I’ve worked with or for.

I agree, it is ludacris to hold someone accountable for something they know nothing about. This leadership style won’t end well

Pharmacists are heathcare workers, not managers. District Leaders are managers. Big difference. To be a DL you must have a bachelors. Get off your high horse or you WILL BE REPLACED by a new grad that will listen, take direction and work for half of what they pay you. YOU ARE A NUMBER. Have some balls and speak up to your SUPERIOR if you have an issue, don't be a coward and cry on this post!!

Managing people doesn’t mean setting unreasonable expectations I can’t have a business conversation about my pharmacy when my DL is absolutely clueless about what goes on and what needs to be done.

DLs are managers managing a business and people, both of which pharmacists have no idea how to do. The title of your post shows you are the epitome of a typical pharmacist. You think your education level somehow makes you superior to anyone else. Your comment it self-righteous, Ignorant and immature. Apparently six years of school might’ve taught you some clinical expertise, but it obviously didn’t teach you common sense or humility. Bravo to our pharmacy schools across the nation for churning out graduates like you.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of licensed DL's can't manage people.
