Actually, I don't see any relaxing weekends in our future, at least for a few months. I think by the time this is done, I'll need medication just to be able to get through the day. Isn't it sad what this company has done to us? I'm starting to think I should be looking forward to being laid off, not fear it.

Yes Nurses and Nurse Management, non clinical management as well we let go. It is very sad and abrupt
I have been with this company for over 8 years it's horrible the way their treat the employees. The culture, work life balance is a nightmare. Very stressful and toxic.
This is so crazy I was a manager and I was not given any information about layoffs. I’m glad I could be honest with my team. Maybe the mission vision and values needs to be looked at?
I am an employee and have heard nothing of layoffs this is really scary and I had no idea which departments? Nurses too?
UHG just announced they are paying out dividends of 1.08 per share on 940 million outstanding shares this quarter. This equals about a billion dollars. What UHG pays a year in dividends could pay over 40k employees around 100k each per year. So remember that when your job is being cut. They don't care about people just profits.

I've been a manager at UHG for a long time. I've been heavy on the anti-anxiety meds because the stress has been really, really bad this year. Knowing your team has been targeted, knowing that you're going to have to let them go soon, but can't say anything because it puts your own severance at risk, is a really horrible, toxic way to do business.
This is far from done. Don't trust anyone in senior management.
You have to have the attitude that its a matter of WHEN not IF in this company. Once you can get your head around that it will happen-life gets better. Don't get me wrong-i'll still drink this weekend-but I won't give a sh– about Optum just like they don't care about us.
Yes remember as of 2019 if u are under a stressed enviroment at work..not due to layoff or demotions but because of constant fear, harrassment. That now considered workmans comp for healthcare workers. The enviromentnthis company subjects its employyees to , driving them to drink take pills, constant fear and harrassment..tell ur drs people.
