Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

More bad news from Australia

It's not looking good for DXC in Australia. A major project has just gone bad in a big way.
This is what happens when your layoff experienced staff and replace them with sycophants.

I understand Australia just had a range of layoffs, not long after the CEO said there would be none .... is this true ?

All the dud staff and graduates with no experience are left to deliver the impossible. 535 out of the target of 24,150 devices migrated is an absolute disaster, but only DXC could manage that outcome so well.

Good riddance to DXC and Mikey is escaping before even more bad news hits the press.

And you have not seen what will be the Microsoft Workplace 250 millions contract ....
Ah, ah, ah, if DXC is not paying for more than 250 millions of penalties, it could be a success ......

LOL, "Across SA Health, the situation was more woeful, with only 535 out of the target of 24,150 devices migrated by September this year. "

DXC, The Company that can’t even manage an upgrade to Windows 10. Woeful incompetence.

Typical - despite all the wrapping paper, DXC continues to manage its staff and clients as disposable items. All the senior management seem concerned about is their golden umbrellas and shareholder pay outs.

I work for DXC - its still two companies (HPE and CSC merger) undermining each other to make a fast buck

But the magical/amazing/definitely not poorly developed EMR Lorenzo is being deployed there. Lorenzo is DXC's Lord & Saviour...

More details here:

"The South Australian Government is reviewing its $400-million end-user computing program with DXC Technology, claiming it was plagued by “delays and disputes” from the beginning."

Is anyone surprised?

DXC over promised, really they do that? Of course they over promised and gave short impossible dates to meet. DXC needs to get its act together and properly bring different groups into the project plan and make sure there is one Goal. That Goal is to get the project done right. The company needs to prioritize so EVERYONE is working to the same goal.
Now we are pulled left and right, every Project manager thinks their project is the most important, we need to operate as "small" company

On the bright side the SA government will not be lumbered with cr@ppy HP PCs full of bloatware, which will impact HP Inc's bottom line. Everyone is a winner except for the HP and DXC sales people who lose out on their commissions. Rejoice!

Given DXC's proven inability to manage its own desktops, I'm hardly surprised to be fair.

I am sorry for my Aussie mates that are getting binned though :-(

And just like that this supposedly lucrative Government contract becomes a burden for DXC. I work for DXC in South Australia and this news is not good in anyway. We employed a bunch of people and paid them to move to South Australia for this project. With this scaling back I'm sure we'll have to let a lot of them go. Meanwhile they're about to layoff a bunch of ex SA Government IT support people because the clause to not laying them off in the contract expires this month. It's going to be a blood bath locally. You should see our main building on OG road. From the outside it looks like a James Bond's villains head quarters. I expect we'll be moving to a different (cheaper) building very soon.

What bothers me the most about this is we could see it coming and local management did nothing to help the situation. Instead they worked to the contract and continued to "nickle and dim" the customer. Minimal service and minimal cost... Everything was driven by the all mighty bottom line and the interstate leadership couldn't help but get directly involved by deciding who was to be retained and who to let go. I know of three people who were retrenched because of pay level and age. All three were replaced by ex SA Government techs in the 20s.

That project was in trouble very early on. It seems that DXC over promised to get the initial contract. There's a long history of issues with this project documented at Itnews Australia.
