Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Anyone have any info on severance

Should be some people on here that qualify for severance from a recently closed store, anyone have any info on the details, how many weeks max are they paying, are they paying it out at all? HR won't give out any information on the subject.

When my store closed in Jan. 2019, full time employees got one week pay for every year of service up to 8 weeks maximum. Management got one week pay for every year of service up to 20 weeks (I think that was the number). I was full time, with 12 years service but only 10 years of full time so I received 8 weeks of severance.
But beware, severance is not a right but a benefit. If the company decides to not pay any severance or cut the weeks, there is not much you can do.
