Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Hurt Feeling

Beth, asked about why there are so many nasty feelings in the field and what can be done to improve attitudes. She is upset with the disrespect. What can we do to make her feel better?

This is the same game UP hr has been playing for years. “Why do we have so many people quitting is there anything we can do to make it better?”

They know and they don’t care. Fill out all the surveys you want. Knock yourself out.

Directors outright lying saying senior managers or whatever they are called now are fighting to keep jobs on their monthly man power calls and the same managers they said were fighting for the jobs are completely clueless to the fact they supposedly fought for the jobs. Ethics and morals are out the door gotta love the flaming dung rolling downhill just to try to save face at this point everyone is expendable and lying to everyone about the next round of furloughs isn’t doing anyone a favor. We all know management full of it and never knew what they were doing in the first place when they got their position. Efficiency and productivity first safety last, someone has to get hurt or k–led to have any safety sensitive issues addressed and even then it’s everyone’s fault but the ones who ignored the issues. Do everyone a favor stay in your offices cry about the horrible conditions that the current board of directors, CEO, COO, and stockholders have let take hold because of the PSR ponzi scheme and let the firestorm burn this company to the ground. It’s best for everyone involved at this point the workers don’t care and are perfectly happy to sit back and let this place burn. Until they clean up the glass palace and get people in charge that realize the CUSTOMERS and EMPLOYEES are more important then the stockholders this place will continue to be a toxic company. Once you replace those in change now and only then will the morale and pride come back to this company but even by then I’ll bet it’ll be to late because those left behind will never truly trust or forget the damage done by the management and scam that is PSR.

Pertaining to Agreement Employees:
Do Not increase health care premiums and reduce deductibles for families. Allow adult orthodontic work. Revamp the attendance policy to be more lenient and allow for earning of paid sick leave. Match 401 K and begin profit sharing.
Pay claims that are obviously within the agreements without purposely sending to arbitration. Hire safer and better skilled crew transport drivers. Improve all facilities to modern conditions.
Place more engines or power on the longer and heavier trains. Do not make trains any longer than what a siding can safely accommodate on any given subdivision allowing for room to cut major or critical crossings.
Allow for previous managers that were terminated due to work force reduction to collect what they earned in the pension/retirement system without any penalty or reduction.

Maybe old Beth needs to just take one of those long walks she talked about when all this PSR c-ap started!

She almost said everything will be ok .
It is time for Beth act on her advice .

I can't imagine why anyone on the corporate side would ask that type of question. I would've thought the answer to that question was very apparent at this point. So Beth here's the answer. Quit playing stupid, open your damn office door and look at all the emptiness of the glass palace. Next, look out your windows and see how the UP is shrinking. Next, try talking to the employees to get a better idea of the actual issues for the working class. Next, it might help if you actually did your job. The most important thing for you to do is to look at the center of the problem. Lance Fritz is not what this company needs at all. Jim Vena is not what this company needs ever. So to wrap this up, don't be stupid. Beth, your question had a tone that you know what the problems is. Ignorance is not an excuse for poor leadership. Beth, you are a poor leader in this once great company. I hope a corporate shakeup takes place real soon, and every single one of you get walked out. Then you'll know why there's so many nasty feelings

Please, this is a joke, yall really care what she thinks. As bad as this company has been ran before Friitz, Vena, and the Hedge hogfund took over Union Pacific made money hand over fist. All of a sudden some little wall street boys come up with a better idea, and they are losing money we used to net 4 to 6 billion a quarter now its barely 1.9 and they call themselves leaders. It's time to hire up fill up the roster even bring back our level 5 brothers and sisters and do what we do best RAILROAD. All those silly attorneys on the payroll mean nothing. Union Pacific is more tied up in lawsuits than ever before before and after this silly UP Way. The real UP way is railroading this is not a corporation its a railroad. They need to get it through their heads its not a corporation but a railroad. Does not matter how hard they try or what brains they think they have this is a railroad if Fritz and Vena want to play this corporation game go buy monopoly better yet the game of life. www.FIREFRITZ.COM

I just read on progressive railroading that the next round of negotiations will consist of employees contributing more for health care and aligning pay with that of other industries. Good luck with that other industries are always looking for decent help like a revolving door. I would love to see this place with a high turnover rate they would have more accidents than a high school parking lot full of teenagers texting and driving. The reason attitudes are bad is because the work place is bad. Attitudes mirror working conditions!

Maybe treat agreement employees like humans? For years we have been treated like sh– then with all this PSR b—s— tossed out like dirty trash.

Maybe they weren’t served the investigation letter because they refused to sign for their certified mail. Old trick. Doesn’t work.

Tell Beth, Union Pacific has fired people for no reason, Lets go back to the year 2014. From 2014 to 2017 several TEY was terminated without ever being served investigation papers. This place is a joke. You want to make it better do the right thing. Lets start there, lets go back to paying all the claims that need to be paid.
