13:05 ET - A bankruptcy judge gives Windstream Holdings until April to file a restructuring plan.
Wouldn’t be surprised if more hardworking people are let go so big boss can continue to eat and live in luxary.
MORE layoffs today, Wednesday seems to be the day prior to a pay period.
Grab your bootstraps and hold on. This is going to go on thru the rest of the year!
"Less employees = more money for the top 5 rats."
Don't insult rats like that. These $cumbag$ are just vile and disgusting.

He's talking to the people that are replacing the ones that got let go. r.i.p. windstream #losingteam
Do they still do winscream there? Pretty bad timing if they did. Bring your kids to the place your mom and dad wont be working at in a few weeks night.
Hope you guys are getting reasonable severance.
The local people try but it seems like their hands are often tied. Most have lived here all their lives.
Captive ILEC customers pay a lot for service. If it’s not going to be spent on maintenance, maybe they can spend a little on severance.
It’s the right thing to do.
- I.P. Windstream 2006 - 2020
They dont have the people to keep this ship afloat. You go out to the Verizon collos on the CLEC side and there might be 5 or 6 carriers still collocated there and in many instances Windstream owns 3 to 5 of those carriers. They never integrated the networks and consolidated them. Appears they have no plans to after they laid off such a high percentage of engineers and net techs. The software powerhouse of windstream still have Paradyne DSLAMs from 1995 providing DSL service. What a horribly run company....
This company should have more respect for their employees. This is so disturbing that they layoff people without warning. Have some respect for us and give us the good bad and ugly instead this layoff bull behind everyone's back. We're are adults and understand the fact layoffs are part of the business especially since the company is in bankruptcy. smoking mirrors that you want us to believe the company is doing well or on the right track It's not accurate.have an all employee call with the leadership leading it telling us this is what's happening as results of our failed business.the leadership never addresses layoffs never before they happen or after they happen!
Rochester news report:
https://www.wxxinews.org/post/windstream-cuts-some-rochester-jobs
According to a local TV station in Rochester NY, 16 are let go, most in the enterprise business unit. They also said about 600 are employed in Rochester.
They apparently did get hit hard. It'll probably take a few days for most to post up. Any idea on numbers overall yet?
And you were correct. Engineering got hit pretty hard
Don't think it won't happen to you. Get out while you can.
That place is a complete mess!! The NOC was a place of discomfort, anxiety, and a lot staff management propaganda. So appreciative to have left on my own merit. Good luck to those undeserving and to the others....well, so “unfortunate”.
Can confirm. Not going to say which center I am in, but so far I know of two of my team members and three managers that got laid off today. Unbelievable.
Heard from a VERY reliable source that the Repair department will be next up for a fairly large round of cuts.
This will mostly affect GVL, CLT, and ROC. A big push to continue offshoring this department is in the plan.
Get your resume ready. Best of luck.
Gotta have enough money to pay the top rats their motivational bonuses. That's whats most important at this point.
Yeah... good luck with that.
So sorry this is happening to you guys
This has been confirmed on the clec side of the house in NC. BST in Hickory given a two notice. I am union in NC and we have no layoffs, I can't speak for non union side. Good luck to all non union individuals out there! Concord/Albemarle/Lexington areas ect reach out to CWA if you are ready to talk. Robert Heim is the president look up his number in the org chart.
Good luck to those laid off today. I was the one who posted a while back about my layoff. Unlike windstream, who view employees as disgusting necessities, there are good and great companies out there that value employees. The ones not on bankruptcy that are growing in this good economy like a company should. I am much happier working for another company, have better benefits, a better work environment, enjoy going to work and am paid much better. Windstream stinks and you are better off working somewhere else, i hope you find something quickly so the stress on you and your family is minimized.
Laid off from the NOC in Gville
I was informed today that I'm being included in a RIF. My last day will be 11/13. In a way I am relieve that I can get away from this mis-managed company. I wouldn't trust the upper management to run a lemonade stand. Good job execs for running this company into the ground. You would think that since TT was a CFO then he would have known better than to try to create a REIT. Somebody should be in prison for this.
STUPID, STUPID, STUPID
GREED, GREED ,GREED
If they think we will harder due to fear puke a– leadership is sadly mistaken. My bags are packed and ready to go
Don't let this discourage you, This is just a bump in the road, stay "MOTIVATED" LMFAO
We were absolutely crushed. Skeleton crew to start with, now hardly anyone left. No, I wont say where I work or how many were let go, but I will say this makes things very..VERY hard
If the customers found out what a cobbled together mess the WS network is no one would sign for any kind of service. Most is beyond end of life and hanging on by a thread.
The sociopath leadership is at it again. Windstream is just an embarrassment at this point. The leadership hides and avoids. Remember the 'transparent and open' promises made to the emplyees and then immediately broken...I DO!!!
Less employees = more money for the top 5 rats.
I am (was) a BST, I was laid off today, my direct manager was laid off and a fellow Net Tech.
New HR Director is doing a 'bang up' job
If it's not big enough to trigger WARN it seems unlikely the court would get involved
I'm not sure the court has to approve layoffs.
As a practical matter, the creditors have to be comfortable with what's going on. They may not be especially aware of today's particular round. However, they will want to be consulted in any major strategic change (or lack thereof) – for example, selling some ILEC territories or shutting down some of the CLEC business. Even those moves don't need a hearing before the judge if none of the stakeholders objects.
There are dozens of subsidiary corporations that are legal entities and part of the bankruptcy. Many exist just on paper for tax or regulatory reasons. If there was a strategic restructuring, there'd probably be some legal minutia to be cleaned up afterward with those companies. That would need the judge's approval but it would be a rubber stamp unless someone objected.
Confirmed, 2nd hand knowledge, my brother just got let go
ILEC?
Net tech here, just got my walking papers after 20yrs with the company. They are cutting deep today, we lost 30% of our team
Quite a few network techs on the CLEC side have been laid off this morning, heard of some business techs too
It's already happening. anybody have any job openings for a tech who is as smart as he is handsome? asking for a friend.
No joke just go laid off
