Is this a big deal or ho-hum? … "Windstream OfficeSuite UC Now Available to SMBs" --

Article in Channel Partners:

"Windstream has extended its proprietary unified communications (UC) solution to Kinetic Business by Windstream SMB customers. OfficeSuite UC is an over-the-top solution that provides anywhere, anytime access from any device. It offers, for business customers, integration with all communications tools; business mobility via softphone apps or mobile twinning; built-in business continuity if the office loses power or suffers a disaster; and an administrative portal for customizing and configuring user profiles and call routing."

How's this compare to the competition? Did Windstream develop this inhouse? Should we be impressed?

Broadview bought a small company that utilized an outside development team in India. Thats all this is. A few people in canada and a bulk of the team is outsourced from India. The sil clusters crash weekly and have to be restarted, constant outages. Then Windstream bought Broadview. That platform is insanely unstable.

windstream has been using office suite for 2 years. Most customers have begun moving to cloud voice providers where Long distance doesn’t cost anything.

How does the Windstream / Broadview product compare to what's on the market.

I looked up Broadview – Windstream bought Broadview 5 years after it had gone through its own bankruptcy. By then, it was heavily in debt again with its stock trading near $1/share. This makes me wonder if maybe they had problems with their product.

Windstream paid $6.98/share (cash) to acquire Broadview.

WIN launched the Broadview product (OfficeSuite) to their SMB ILEC base over 2 years ago. It was not developed in house - Windstream acquired Broadview in 2017 for the OfficeSuite product. This isn't anything new - just marketing spin.

They changed the name from connected office and relaunched it. No other changes.
