Well, it is an official rumor (whatever that means from my boss in ETC), Upstream will be going through a full scale reorg which will be announced on Nov 22. It looks like Chevron is moving to an asset class structure instead of a geographic structure. This is going to affect about 30% of the 28+ positions in reduction. Overall workforce will see a 10% to 15% reduction. Hold onto your hats cowboys and cowgirls. Its about to get crazy in the job postings. PRC - gone, CTV - gone, ETC, CTV, PRC merged, Tech Services consolidated, etc.

Don't leave in April as Layoffs are definitely coming. They are waiting to see how many people leave by April and then will do Layoffs next summer. So, stick around and make them pay a few more months of benefits and 2020 bonus and then enjoy the package that follows.
We will see very soon if the rumor becomes reality. November 22 will be here soon enough.
There is an exiting life outside of Chevron where you can find your passion and be yourself. It takes time to adjust, my lay-off was in 2015 and over 50, but I’ve found a new cause and dream.
Slow down and Milk it for all you can........ Don't ruin a good thing..... That's what I was told by multiple managers on FGP and Global Gas ...... I didn't listen or slow down and found myself at odds and out the door. If I had to do it all over again, I would have sandbagged the c-ap out of this company like the others instead of being a good hard working productive employee and remained a staff employee to this date. Good luck Chevroids
“full scale reorg“... hard to believe it will be that big since much more would have leaked out about the planning.
Sometimes I feel like I want to leave this company but I’m too old to find a job somewhere else and I don’t have enough money saved up. I feel like I’m working in my own casket.
Don’t forget upstream. AI will do the prospecting and those wells are going to drill themselves.
If true, this we’ll ruin some Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
Will there be layoffs for individual contributors in the business units?
This matches much of what I've been told in etc. I am soooooo excited for some change. Bring it!!!!!!
They say this will make us stronger? Maybe the company will be come out stronger, but not the poor saps that get sacked. I remember from the previous layoffs in 2015 and 2016 that many good people were let go and more than a few d—beats still remained in their job. So much for the word ‘stronger’. Hold on to your job if you can should be the expectation.
Worst kept secret ever.
Heard about ETC and PRC but not CTV.
