Going to be a rude awakening for the new Engineering Leadership when things are not getting done. I hope they remember the last batch of managers and directors. History has a tendency to repeat itself. A lot of dysfunction right now. Good luck to IEF SVP- you will only hold off rest of LT for maybe 6-9 months before you are scapegoated for GAC performance. Programs and Supply Chain is waiting to eat you for lunch. We know more than you all think we do.
Found a new job almost instantly. Better pay and benefits. So I’m pretty happy!
Engineers that got the RIF have been told to re apply for contract positions in the same dept.
I have never heard something so scummy, They will go to ant extent to fudge the numbers for the investors. The G500/G600/G700 all have major issues with the engineering. Nacelles will cause huge delays.
What goes around comes around, and I truly believe that. For those managers that pulled this off, your day will come.
For those remaining, I have sympathy for because no matter how well they settle in after this RIF, they will always be looking over their shoulder.
It is amazing how Gulfstream's handling of this RIF has rifled thru the industry. Gulfstream will never be the same.
How are those G500/G600 s making out!
So Gulfstream fired people in management positions that didn’t have criminal records while keeping other management that did? OK, maybe that’s right, but I remember something from the other week, was there a manager on probation while in LDP? I think we need to know
Survived. Directors and Managers with criminal records survived RIF, while others that didn’t got walked out. Do your homework Gulfstream. Most companies don’t promote people with recent criminal records to management. I’m drinking a little more than normal too!
Guy that walked me out is a chief engineer that ended up walking the halls of a hotel in Israel naked- and blamed it on being d–gged. Got promoted to chief engineer after that. Gulfstream DO YOUR HOMEWORK
RIF’d. It was pretty cold. Management that did it was uncomfortable. I’ll be ok. Gave the company over 8 years of my life. Trust and loyalty brothers and sisters.
I still don’t know why I was RIF’d, and several engineering managers with criminal records weren’t. I was told most engineering management got RIF’d
Praying for everyone, and drinking a little too.
Survived. Feel horrible for those walked out. Everything still in flux. I hope that that things get better soon. Trying to keep positive and have hope, while remaining focused on doing a good job. I hope Gulfstream can improve trust and loyalty with those left.
Drinking heavily. Not much getting done.
I know 2 who found better positions almost immediately, 1 that was super happy because retirement was around the corner anyway and 2 that are in a lot of trouble.
