Because the schedule doesn't change even though the clock does. However if it's in the fall, you are eligible for an extra hour's pay and should demand it. They have to pay it or they break the law. If you work a 12 hour shift (let's just say 4 PM to 4 AM) and the clocks go back an hour at 1 or 2 AM, you actually worked 13 hours. If they don't pay the extra hour fo Non Exempt) it's against the law and go to your State's Dept. of Labor to report. The flipside is that in the Spring, they can legally withhold an hour b/c the clock goes forward and you only worked 11 hours on a 4 PM to 4 AM shift.
