Thread regarding Ford layoffs

This should be all over the media!

It is still shameful that Ford salaried retirees are singled out to be tasked with higher costs. Retirees are on fixed incomes and did not expect this. Certainly they should not bear the burden alone.

I hope the press catches wind of this

I couldn't agree with you more, @11ByADdA-2rrh.

My hire date was in 2001 so I am not eligible for medical coverage. I WAS eligible for retiree optical and dental but apparently dental insurance is no longer offered. They really are sticking it to retirees.

Stick to the retirees to cover your blunders at Ford. Nice. Typical. What a great company to work for. I'm sickened I spent 30+ years of my life there.

Going from high deductibles and zero cost to even higher deductibles and $5160 per year was a shock and disappointment to say the least.

Deductible: YOU PAY
In-network
(You only/You + family) $3,600/$7,200

Out-of-pocket maximum: YOU PAY
In-network
(You only/You + family) $6,900/$13,800

This says it all. Ford’s 2020 retiree medical plan options are competitive and provide significant value compared to those available in the public health insurance marketplace (Obamacare).

This will get more exposure from affected retirees when they start enrolling tomorrow. I hope they aren't eating anything while logging in. They may lose it when they see the options!!!

I know I did.....

Right - but the new hires these days won't be around to retire from Ford. There is no incentive to stay like in the pension days. Based on personal experience - many grads do not want to end up in the old fashioned auto business sitting on furniture/cubes from the '70s - or stay in the Detroit area.

Social media will have the most impact to get the story out.
