Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

This board has little activity re: Oracle partners but here's my 2c on this change on this change for those interested: I work at a medium sized VAR and currently our OPN costs are $3k annually for a Gold level membership. This gives us access to resell PaaS/IaaS, Tech, and HW. Further specializations (free) can be earned to resell SaaS and Apps. Beginning in December, Oracle is "modernizing" the partner network so that partners select specific "tracks". Each track costs $3k Cloud Build Track ($3k), Cloud Sell Track ($3k), Cloud Service Track ($3k), and License and Hardware Track ($3k). Each of these tracks cost $3k a pop, so if I want to continue what I'm reselling now (Cloud, HW & Licenses) my annual costs will increase from $3k to $6k. The majority of our business comes from HW & Licenses, not much cloud. I know this change is to push towards more cloud focused resellers but for some, like me, it will just push me away from trying to sell cloud and focus on another supplier.
