How come we are hearing about DXC layoffs on this board on a daily basis and yet it makes the news rarely if ever? Did DXC get so good at covering up layoffs that nobody is noticing it's happening aside from us? Or is it that people simply couldn't care less?

shut up and give the new guy a chance !
I think that DXC's staggered approach is effective at limiting the exposure of WFRs. Apparently there is a threshold of WFRs at any one time, some magic number, that DXC would have to report to governmental authorities. So DXC just has a bunch of layoffs under that threshold that are done every couple of weeks. And they never give employees a heads-up either. It's diabolical.
They do / has been reported in the past that they get their employees - especially in Low cost centres to put up glowing reviews on "Glassdoor" to smoke out / cover up the more truthful and poor / bad reviews on Glassdoor.
Unfortunately having good and bad reviews is potentially confusing the potential new joiner punters WTF is going on and is company as bad as it is reported or good.
Sal / New Ceo has chance to do top to down review of the company and make the necessary changes to turn this nightmare (under helm of Lawrie) around. Even if it means whole sways of Middle management going or needing to reapply for their jobs every 12 months.
It's de-factoring of 3.6 on Richter scale... "Not Great" but on same token "Not Terrible.".
What's basically an ongoing programme isn't newsworthy; it's that simple.
