Looks like people in Isilon engineering are getting the same treatment that the support org got hit with months back. Not sure on total numbers yet.

So Michael Dell promotes several executives in a huge televised meeting, 1 day before he lays off senior/middle engineering management in Isilon. India and China teams are rumored to be cut as well. This is his pattern, replicated for years now. He gets fat and rich while thousands of families are devastated. Dell has a pattern of buying companies he doesn't understand, and decimating them. Seems he and Jeff Immelt are two of a kind. Promote your buddies, even the incompetent ones, and cut out the ones who actually produce good results. Maybe the board needs to take a closer look at him? Place some governance over his decisions. After all he owes many of them over 50 billion....
Maybe 10ish from Isi. Seems to be management. Not the management that needed to go.
