Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Go forward and what it means to us at STAC

I am sure you all already noticed the reduced tech support us Sears techs are receiving from STAC, well today I learned from my TM that STAC layoffs will continue and STAC will be closed in a couple of months. I don’t know how the senior management expect us to repair efficiently the customer merchandise with no training and now with no tech support. I was even asked to not call STAC for any reason and if I do there are only a few working people 20 hours, what a joke.

Am I the only Sears tech here?

policy violations at stac ,,, being 2 minutes late to work , 2 minutes late returning from a break , being late starting a break , taking a day off because you are sick , and the list goes on . if you get 6 violations in a 6 month period they can fire you instead of a lay off and avoid unemployment pay .

all the field techs should have all the applications and be able to access all the information we had at stac . That was set up a couple of years ago . The property that the stac building is on is worth a fortune now . there is a lot of new development and a giant indoor water park going up in the area . knowing Lamperts love of making money off real estate , I would say there is a good chance stac will be dissolved.

Real truth is Stac has been sending people home left and right! call volume has dropped more than 80%. You do the math! I have heard entire stac must go because they do not sell or make any profit for the company! Everything can be done with out stac since every unit has capability to help their own techs!

you do know that STAC hasnt sent anyone home for downsizing reasons since the bankruptcy, right? the only ppl that have left stac have left on thier own or were fired for policy violations. it's true that stac is not filling those spots but they are not laying ppl off.
you were asked not to call stac because you supervisor is trying to protect his own job. they think that if stac goes away then they are needed now more than ever. they fail to see that stac has been blasted with calls for stuff other than technical help because they never answer their phones.
i have a friend that is a lead in stac and i was told that "the field" was asked to have their techs only call in for technical assistance instead of for parts or asking if stuff is under warranty or not.

everybody working in stac is full time and work 40 hours a week. they are not being given overtime for the time being, which is why they were wanting people to only call for technical help. the other stuff tech's call for was causing the need for lots of overtime to keep up with the calls.

for real, I walk by stac several times a day and they are all still there and working 40 hours. call them for something today and ask if they're letting ppl go and see what they say. since bankruptcy, only the manager of stac has been let go for something other than a policy violation.

Your the only one left. Lol get out now, why do you people still wonder what or why this is happening. Like it is a surprise. Sears is a scam organization and they take the Sears tech money any way they can plus place all blame on you in a heartbeat when need be. Your wasting your time staying there making your TM money. It's not that hard to find another job. I did 6 months ago and never once think about coming back, I'd rather work for min wage before Sears lol although I dont.
