I've seen no significant price changes in my closing store. It seems like they are trying to do a winddown of inventory with decent sales on a few items here and there over the past few weeks.

They should have just run the stores like this all the time and they might have had success. Fully stocked with discounts on everything. More expensive than the regular non closing prices, but people seem to like it.

On the other end of the transfers, non-closing (yet) stores are going mad trying to box everything up and ship it to the closing stores as fast as possible. We're getting dictionary-thick lists of things we're supposed to transfer, and we only have about a week to do it. Normally we'd be flush in repack boxes, but since things are going out a dozen pallets or more at a time, we're utterly drained, and our DMs are telling us to go buy boxes from hardware stores. They don't seem to care that transferring all this stuff out without giving us any time or payroll to refill newly emptied shelves and racks (we actually do have new merchandise piling up in the back to do it with) is making our stores look like the closing ones first.

@114UBDIC-cut Get ready for an influx of Sears merchandise that no one would buy on final $1.97 clearance. On trend fashion David Taylor men's hip hugger stretch jeans in portly and distorted body sizes. Worthington petite women's sweaters with shoulder pads and glitter appliques. Cheap plastic "vegan leather" glued-together "water resistent" fashion boots with faux fur adornments. Kardashian Kollection separates that have the brand name label cut out of them because the company isn't allowed to sell Kardashian-branded product the past four years. There might be some Cheryl Tiegs and Kathy Ireland lingerie hanging around in a overstock room that was walled-off years ago... that stuff will resurface conveniently with $30 and $40 price tags.

Yes.

Vendor was called this morning to take magazines out of front end checkouts. They aren't messing around.

We were told to expect two to three trucks a week of merchandise from October to November. This really is about selling as much as possible. A lot of store to store transfer, though I can't imagine what they could be pulling from stores in our region unless it's summer clothing and flip flops.

What did they/are they doing today? Did they lay out how the process will unfold? Thanks for any responses.
