There is nobody happy in my department. Vindictive manager.Vindictive upper management. It's all a power trip for these nobodies.Their sole aim isnt to be productive or to manage in a productive respectful manner,their sole aim us to make the employees hate their job.The sad thing is,is that it works.

4lsw - is this satire? It must be. Rationalizing hanging out on a layoff board and whining about the company because your options are limited otherwise is pretty lame. Clue, you are not going to influence top management in any way, shape or form by crying about anything on a layoff board. If you feel you are topped out and cannot get any local job or a job equal locally is really saying your employer is the best place you are right now so why would you complain about that?!

I'm not going to rah rah Seagate. There are problems for sure but please think for a moment where your whining is pointless. The management has been very clear for several years now. They are not going to chase SSD in a field that is flooded with mainly a few conglomerates owning the market. So far their mission to concentrate on near-line cloud is making money and will continue for some time into the future. The only thing I'll ding Seagate over is any motivation to explore anything outside of storage.

Its not easy to leave, but waiting YEARS is an excuse. Freshen up your resume and look for a new company. It will come if you're positive. You interview as you write on this board you won't be hired by anyone STX Grandpa!

@1149LcZ5-4zkf..Stop with the "just move jobs or move to a different group" sh1t.Its not that easy.Some posters are from an area of high unemployment.The notion of just moving to a different job is a non-starter as is just moving to a different group.
People come to this board and post their complaints hoping that someone somewhere in higher up management actually reads the complaints and maybe just maybe try and do something about it.If all management decides to treat people with respect and pay a decent living wage then the complaints will stop.
You are very fortunate to be in the position you are in but you are in the minority not the majority.

Feel bad for most of you. Seems like people who hate their job stick around here and huddle together to complain. If you don't like it, leave and get a different job. I'm not saying that it's your fault, I definitely see a lot of bad managers but I count myself lucky. Great manager, great coworkers, and an overall great group that I work in. We're treated very fairly, and management up a few levels knows everyones names and actually listens and IMPLEMENTS feedback.

So yes, I know that there's probably a good portion of you that are just in bad situations not by your own doing but you can do something about it. Move to a different group, leave the company, or wait it out hoping your boss gets fired. You have the power to actually do something proactive with the first two.

Put in your 40 hours, get your paycheck, and go home to have a life outside of work. In the end, you will be glad your did not waste your time busting your asd for greedy and lazy managers - Seagate does not give a sh– about you !

Yes, the salary was great but the job was consuming all my time. You do owe your employer your best work everyday, but you don't owe your employer your personal life or health.

Money isn't everything. Always remember: You need to get a good return on time, because even the biggest salary cannot buy your youth or time lost will loved ones back.

In order to truly be successful, boundaries must be set in our lives. Sometimes you will have to say, "No, this is too much for me."

Staying in a toxic work environment is never worth it. Life is too short. Find Balance.

Gaslighting indeed. You will walk out of that meeting thinking up is really down and HDD is a growing business while SSD is only a small niche without enough supply. You will leave the meeting thinking poor quality is just you not using the drive correctly.

I am sure Springtown is bad but there is a VP at LCO who invented gaslighting over her 35 years

Not happy at all and the same can be said for my work mates. Seagate springtown management have to take a course to be told how to treat people right.They get absolutely destroyed in focal surveys and micro surveys .Toxic environment made by toxic management.

I am gaslit in front of upper management by a metrology manager who is too busy to attend metrology meetings. What do you think?
