SRD is all done now...
Any positive comments about it?

Ha! Good one.
Nothing has changed for the better. Nothing ever will.

The problem is the insidious culture best described as a good ole boy’s club. This club of LL6, LL5 all band together to ensure the reward system they value and understand how to manipulate perpetuates. They thwart any changes that the CEO and Bill try to make. The CEO brings in outsiders at a higher levels thinking that will change things, it does not. the club sabotages efforts of the outsider until either they leave or join the club.
Any GSR / LL6 that the club cannot bend to their agenda are ostracized and black listed, this includes anyone trying to improve Ford or who are frankly smarter and more well liked than club members.

Until the CEO or Bill has the courage to walk the entire club out the door, the culture will not change.
The club went into hiding while Mulally was in town, then started up again as soon as he left.
For starters all the LL5s should be released.

They’re hiring again!? How could SRD save them money? The months of distraction while working through SRD, all the severance packages and extended benefits and the disruption associated with distributing the work of those let go is a large financial hit. Now recruiting, hiring and training will be another large cost. It might make sense if poor performers had been released and replaced with high performers but that was not the case. They released some extremely productive high performers and the odds of finding high performing replacements is certainly less than 100%. Ford definitely deserves and needs better leadership.

Finding that they are hiring people again... Ooof. And not to mention I had a newer Engineer standing under an F150, literally say "which ones the transmission". We just looked at her and pointed up, to which she replied " I thought that was the powertain". They don't know what is what, but they have their Bachelor's degree.

It is costing way more to hire all the new people and the half @$$ training them. The people left behind now have more work and longer hours. More stress! Total joke!

The next reduction should be called “Smart Mobility.” The smartest people will have been long gone.

Sure, SRD is done. That’s an absolute fact.

Question is: what’s the code name for the next set of layoffs?

We might as well tag it here.

How about “Ford Foundations” or “Goin’ Mobile” ?

Yes, both lame. But that follows the pattern.

If you think it's nuts, your head needs to be pulled out.

I’m sure someone is patting himself on the back for a job well done. They got rid of a lot of future pension obligations. There may be a couple of people at the top who think that’s a positive result.
