There was supposedly 16 apprentices left system wide prior to this last furlough. But considering journeyman are being furloughed at most points it wouldn't make much difference in the long run.
More to come brother! Can you smmmmmmell what the Rocks got cookin!
Denver car department didn't get "hit". They cut loose the apprentices's. Big deal. There aren't supposed to be any apprentices's working if there's journeymen laid off.
I heard there's a buggy over turned on isle 4 at King Soopers too ....
I'm surprised any apprentices are left with all the carded guys are laid off.
ONLY 3! It doesn't matter if its 2000 or 1! Its still fathers, mothers, and children that just got the rug pulled out from underneath them. All so some rich a$$hats can meet an arbitrary number!
Denver is getting busier! 36th street yard is NOT closed like the RR would want Wall street to believe. That yard is running full time just like it was when it was "open". North Yard can't handle the increased traffic by its self!
I get that cuts may happen at points where business slows or goes away, but cuts should never happen at a point where business increases. Not if safety and efficiency are supposedly number 1.
Oh and I don't know who keeps putting up the childish comments in regards to the manager in Denver?? I'm guessing this person is a distraught former employee. I may not agree with everything this manager does, but the manager in Denver is a lot better than managers at other points. Trust me, it could be a lot worse!
They only laid off 3 apprentices
