HPE ES was not doing great, but it was not so bad. CSC had been struggling for years, under an archaic and incompetent leadership.
Then some geniuses (who probably made a lot of money in the process), decided that it would be a good idea to merge two completely different companies, with totally different cultures and practices.
The result, of course was/is a disaster. The fix proposed by the geniuses? Fire people!
Lots of people were fired, good people left on their own, most of the legacy HPE ES leaders saw the ship sinking and ran away as fast as they could, the new offerings were not (and still are not) ready or mature enough, in spite of the sales and marketing pitch, and surprise, surprise, the forecast tanked.
This is a good example of how to not manage a business and still make a lot of money (not the employees or the shareholders, but the geniuses).
I have been with EDS/HP/HPE for many years and even during the worst EDS years (D–k Brown's time - another genius), I have not seen things so bad. Morale is non existent, processes do not work, vision and leadership are nowhere to be found.
Time to update the resume...

I used to laugh at HPES people moaning about Meg. I really laughed at their excitement at becoming sausage meat for mikeys grinder. I pointed out the future they faced and still they asked about raises on town hall calls. HP were real amateurs at this M&A game. Welcome to the s—.
It’s an absolute abomination the way management treats their employees. Employees are a liability to these id–ts, not an asset. They never released the results of the Pulse Survey and never addressed the issues. No raises or bonuses in years despite good and great reviews. It’s absolutely tragic. I’ve never seen a situation where basically all the employees the the upper management, especially this asshat Micky Mouse.
EDS treated its employees with respect, always. The rot started with HP, HPE was then lauded as our saviour and that quickly went sour. And now the way these so called people treat employees is just the norm. Glad I’m out, and did my time when I did. As for the young they need to fight if they are going to save themselves.
