Both of these store are currently in liquidation sales and are expected to close on Sunday September 15th 2019. Also for the Staten Island Store about 39 People will be laid off with severance or given the opportunity to transfer to other nearby Sears and Kmart Stores.

With Land's End exiting all remaining Sears store locations by the end of this year look for more downsizing and closures in January 2020.
I foresee more closing in future. This is pretty much to make space for all the outlet stores coming in.
Granted we were a B Sears store but when we closed we only had 22 people working in the store and that included the store manager and an ASM. The liquidator said he had never seen a store so understaffed and he had done 121 Sears and Kmart liquidations.
39 is pretty accurate at our store maybe 50 counting people that work under 10 hrs a week before they hire all the new people to help liquidate and I don't think much more then 10 qualify for any severance pay, they are hiring about 30 people to help with the liquidation
I’m sure the OP meant 39 people out of the entire store, were eligible for severance/transfer.
How do you even run a store with 39 people. Crazy
