Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Sad Board (AIG)

Have any of you review the past year of post. Bottom-line is the only people winning with the Company is BD and Top management. They do not care about youuuuuuuuuuuu. They will get out of WC, Trucking, Middle Marketing and some Fin lines. All employees goneeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Work slowly and interview. If you can get the package take it and get out. This company will be a shell of what it was.

agree with @10wAWPxy. This company is changing rapidly. Shrinking in all areas. They are shrinking and getting out of large areas of WC, Trucking, Middle Marketing and some Fin lines. Although they are writing a lot of business on paper, it's going to TPA's. They are handling the claims. So this means RIF's. It's mind blowing to see the amount of accounts that AIG has lost. It's also mind blowing to see that minute amount of accounts that are staying with AIG for their claims. Look at the business they are writing. Crop, Reinsurance, etc. They don't need a lot of employees to handle those loses. A lot of that can be automated. A lot of us are just hanging on by the seat of our pants. New ideas and innovations have come from various departments but we don't have the accounts to utilize these products like we once didn

totally agree with Post ID: @10wAWPxy. RIF's are happening all the time. A huge portion of claim set up was sent to Manila a few weeks ago. Why wasn't this communicated to the employees here in the USA. They are writing dribs and drabs. Yes they are getting out of a lot of WC, Trucking and Middle Market. In addition they are sending a lot of the written business to TPA's. That's why they hired a head of TPA's. They at the same time are looking to get rid of employees for nonsense. Just dot your i's and cross your t's because there are going to be many more RIF's

I believe it was from outside and I thought I saw it on this site. If I find it or an a company e-mail I will post. Oh yeah, BD makes up positions for his Buddies, promotes them when they haven't been here for even 6 months. It's very sad all the positions in Senior Management that have been created and at the same time we have McKinsey here. What a sin and waste of money. Yet they nickle and dime the employees and give them nothing for the hard work except the fear that they may be RIF'd

Nice...Probably someone from the outside instead of an internal promotion...because none of the current employees have any talent.

Did they actually hire a TPA Senior Manager? I know the spot was posted but I didn’t know it was filled.

Yes the WC that they are keeping is on paper. The claims will be handled by TPA's. That's why they hired a Senior Manager to handle the TPA division. Ya they are writing more business for WC but it's going to TPA's for claims services. Eventually they want all WC that is written to be handled by TPA's like it was in the past.
