If you listened to the earnings call, Mike made it clear that layoffs will continue as they haven't laid off enough people. Only 3900 in the last quarter. He said there is a lot of opportunity to save costs by getting rid of middle management. Also getting rid of 600,000 sq feet of office space and 3 data centers.

Western Europe is tough to lay people off because of strong labor laws. Can't get huge cost savings when you have to pay fair severance or give lots of notice. They want to cut deep and quick for greatest affect, which means US. Expect un-replaced attrition in Europe, but layoffs in the US. Take him at his word. They'll cut US middle managers to replace them with jobs in low cost centers like India, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, the Philippines, etc.
I am expecting 1000s of new layoffs in western europe.
Especially in the Build and Delivery sectors.
In addition he had earlier mentioned further reductions in high cost, complex areas.
But if upper manager instructed to get rid of n no of employers between the grunts on the ground or middle management - you can bet that managers will be kept and grunts will be WFR
really ?
Oh dear, how sad, never mind.
@10sc0AQc-fyi - yep, have received "exceeds all expectations" every year since starting (even before when it was called a 1). Haven't ever had a meaningful payrise, and was recently informed that a promotion that was approved almost two years ago has been shelved due to the ongoing WFRs.
Needless to say, I then handed my notice in and will be out of the company this month.
Why have reviews or goals if we never get a pay raise anyway, its a waste of my time, its a waste of my managers (both of them ) time
Yes get rid of two-in-box, All anyone needs is a functional manager. The two-in-box concept is just stupid! The functional manager knows what your working on , having two managers per person is a waste of money
"Now while we've driven significant productivity improvements in our delivery organization for last several quarters, we have additional opportunities to extract greater efficiencies from our middle management layers including the number of managers as well as their location mix."
i dont understand why they are removing all real estates. rather then laying off people and removing assets, why dont they concentrate on how to get business. Mike should be fired in first place. then only company will be stable
I speak to my manager who resides in another country once a year when he does my bogus review. Get rid of reviews - and you can get rid of more middle management.
