I just read Mattel has $3 billion in debt and $200 million cash in hand and must repay $250 million of that $3 billion in a few months. Is that a problem? Should we be worried?

Mattel shoots itself in the foot... again! You couldn't write this trainwreck of a reality show if you tried.
Once the true financials come out and desperation level hits fever pitch, Ynon might be forced to pull a John Delorean and try smuggling d–gs to raise cash. Actually that could never happen here, it's apples and oranges. First, Delorean actually knew and understood his company's business. Second, he CARED whether his company survived or not.

which suggests that the real story here may be that the company is having trouble finding someone to extend it the money it needs at a rate it wants to pay and using the whistle-blower claim as an excuse to suspend the debt offering and play for time.
Sounds like the letter was sent to Mattel and not posted publicly. Someone needs to tell the whistleblower that that's not how whistelblowing works.
