Win will give 90 days free Internet to new customers starting in September. Not sure how giving away a service is going to bring them back to profitability.

Contract is why.
The bit about giving it out free to make the growth numbers needed to obtain the KEIP bonuses actually does sound like something Leadership would instigate. Every Windstreamer knows that obtaining bonuses is Leaderships only priority.
It's all about grabbing that motivational bonus at this point.
It's pretty sad when you can't even give the $hit away....
It's just a cheat to increase subscriber numbers so the Top 5 can meet one of their metrics to qualify for that bonus.
And the people actually paying their bills will continue to get pushed to the back burner. This management team could manage a lemonade stand.
Not a bad idea if they keep it after 90 days
Margins are low but they’ll make it up on volume
