It was announced on the local news today that Centurylink was closing the New Century office because it was too large to accommodate the supposedly 800 people who presently work there (if there are that many they must be invisible). The press said that the lease will expire mid year 2020 and people will have 3 options:
- Relocate to another CTL Facility
- Work from home
- Take a package if you’re lucky to get offered one.
The lease negotiation with the City of Gardner took place right after CenturyTel took over so this has been in place since 2009 and it’s not surprising. Why else did CTL start renovating certain areas of the building, you could see this one coming. Good luck everyone who’s left at New Century, there is a better life and career after CenturyLink.
