Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Class action suit against AIG

I have heard that there are some employees that have exchanged information and are seeking counsel regarding class action suits. It won't be the first one and I am sure it won't be the last one. Just because you signed a waiver doesn't mean you can't be involved in an age discrimination suit. Stay connected on this site and support each other.

It's well known that they are targeting older employees. I have even heard a manager says so. Sad. Really sad. Sad for those so close to retirement. I'm in if there is a class action. Word gets out and I believe if a suit starts, prior employees in the class must be contacted. I am looking into this and if I find out any info I will post

I'm interested too. I'm 55 got laid off in 2016 after 10 years. KC SS formerly olathe operations center. They said I was eligible for rehire so once severance exhausted reapplied and was told I was unqualified for job I had before. Huh. I was 52 when laid off.

I'm a younger employeee, not yet RIFed, and don't give a f—. This company is a joke...I get high productivity and I get all my assignments taken away from me; I slow my pace and I get a lecture about not being motivated. Tell ya what; I'll be about as motivated as this company is in developing their employees.

Well there will be more RIF's and McKinsey has a reputation of also recommending of older employees being RIF'd so I am sure there will be more to add to a class action suit

I got RIF’d in 2018 at 62 after 28 years at AIG. My performance was better than many of my peers, but I was cut. I would be more than willing to participate in a class action suit.

Got RIFd in 2015 at age 62. I would absolutely be in for a class action suit. AIG put me in a bind that I will never recover from.

Stay tuned because they are targeting older folks and they aren't going to let this go. We have to stick together and keep posting to keep everyone informed. How ironic when BD is over 70. Shame on him and those who are making these recommendations. Karma''s going to get them.

I am interested. Got the boot at 60 and could not find another one thus far. I would be interested in a class action suit if there is one.

I disagree with Post ID: @10q0o9OA-1uva that some of us can't retire. Remember AIG took away the pension and changed the way they match 401 for employees. Yes maybe some of us would have been able to enjoy if we didn't have so much taken away from us

I'd be interested. Im 63 and got the boot. got a better job with nicer people. a miracle at my age while still on severance so they did me a favor. however that does not undo the fact that they targeted and discriminated against older employees

It won't be fake news when there are more class actions suits. AIG has kept them quiet and settled behind the scenes. I know of one where in CA around 2009/2010 when it began, they kept it real quiet. That is when all the Adjusters were made to go hourly instead of being salaried. I remember it.
