Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Forced attrition

A lot of IT people are being let go if they are not local to a mn or unable to work in an office. A large portion of a team I used to work for are being laid off October or November 1st. The announcement was so poorly managed that some people found out they wont have a job soon by other teams. No more work from home for a lot of folks as well or you are gone.

A horrible company with boundless greed at the top and no consideration for the US workers that made them successful.

117 US employees terminated in what is being called Phase 1 of 3. Santelli has always hated the help desk and told Sai and team to "fix" it meaning fire all US employees and fill the positions in the Philippines. All non-MN telecommuters let go without giving an option to go into an office. Santelli needs to go, he is destroying the company. I'll post more as it occurs...

What areas within IT? I was a victim of this policy years ago. It was at the Santelli level and there weren’t many exceptions so I’m surprised there are telecommuters still

It’s Vijay and the offshoring staff. “Fix the mess” turned into offshore the staff.

Notices already given on 8/6. 60 day and higher notices. Managers, techs, analysts, didn't matter. Telecommuters and two offices in RI and CT will close, telecom targeted first outside of MN. All get to stick around to train their Phillipine replacements. You stay classy there Optum.
