Blocks & Files thinks we might even see the company offload its enterprise systems and flash businesses. If it can do better with dollars invested in making disks rather than arrays and SSDs, then it may decide to concentrate everything on disk drives and spin off the array and SSD distractions.

Ssd is really a burden for stx. I think they should get rid of the 600M acquisition and call it a failure. Just concentrate on what they know how to do. SSD people are just a drain without any stopping for a foreseeable future

How much longer can it lose money or breakeven on those businesses? Competing against Samsung and the Chinese - this is not the way to keep business after HDD.
I don't think Seagate is going to get rid of SSD. They know HDD will become less storage solution in the future.
Seagate missed the boat on SSD. No way they can compete in that industry now. May as well sell it off and just be a dinosaur company that milks disk drive revenue. Not much growth in that though.
