The stores are selling half as much as they were last year unless online sales are booming theres no way Sears will stay relevant, diehard and Kenmore are worthless anymore if they really believe that's their saving grace they are dumber then a box of rocks

One of the biggest stores on the west coast did not have it's lease renewed and is not on the list so get ready for more closing announcements to come in the next few months.
@10p5apec-thx Normally you can order for instore pickup for about a week AFTER they announce closing.
We never turn it off before.
"Mid rivers mall store liquidation starts end on month. This was a top tier store at one time located in fast growth high income city and county. They cant make this store work none of them will."
They couldn't make St Clair Square's work and there is literally NO COMPETITION for them in that region, so if they couldn't make the one in Fairview Heights work, why did you think they could make the St Peters one work when there's more competition for them there?
@zjk - I used the link provided and it worked just fine. Went to News/Media, clicked on Company Statements, and then clicked on Store Closures (Aug. 6, 2019); the list was right there. Quit being lazy and do your own research if you need additional verification!
@10p5apec-lqc
This link just takes me back to here on the lay-off.
You got something that verifies this list.
OP
Respectfully, you don't know a June bug from a Pine needle.
I'm appalled. The new company is now facing "a number of challenges"???? I thought it was all A-Okay. After bankruptcy, we'd finally be able to pull off the transformation of the century!
Curious what the acceleration of smaller stores ends up being. If they planned 2 more this year, then opening three is an acceleration. But not a business-saver.
Adding several hundred Hometown stores? Does this mean opening that many more in ADDITION to what exists or is this side-speak for saying, after the transaction closes, this is the number that would be added to our existing TransformCo list, meaning all others would close? The clarity of this press release is outstanding. Of course, being a private company, they didn't need to say anything at all.
So, if nothing else, there is no surprise to this.

Newco released a press release, talks about shifting a format to smaller stores and SHOS, basically full line stores are going to be less and less from here on out.
@10p5apec-xml. I doubt oldco’ will have anything posted on their webpage

List is correct...it's a mix of Kmart and Sears

some of those stores listed are closed already,
If the posted list is correct, that will leave only 1 FL Sears (Aurora) left in the state of Colorado.
The Aurora store anchors a crummy mall along with JCP and Macy’s. It’s already a ghost town and not worth driving too.
I can confirm Redlands, Ca Associates told today.
@10p5apec-dmt you realize some of those stores you listed have been closed for a while right?

Sears Springfield MO CONFIRMED we just had HR make the announcement 20 min ago. SGM was literally balling saying he doesn't want to work at McDonald's.
@10p5apec-rpe
If you know what they are, why don’t you post where they are????
I can still order items for pickup from the Redlands location, usually, they turn that feature off a few days before announcing a closure.
5 Kmart, 21 Sears fullline
There is no Kmart in San Bernardino, can anyone confirm Redlands is actually closing? I liked that store.
Washington
@pzn Sorry to hear the news. Where are you located?
Sam Bernardino and Redlands stores. Announcement happened already.
Until I see a list of the 20 closing stores announced today it's all fake news and bs. Let's see some real facts folks.
@xmh. You've got to be kidding. I'm sure you are being sarcastic because we all know that since Transformco is private Eddie can do whatever he wants anytime he wants.
I believe it don't know about other stores but had HR visit our Sears today and was told we are closing
Without providing us with any real evidence then this is just wishful thinking
Mid rivers mall store liquidation starts end on month. This was a top tier store at one time located in fast growth high income city and county. They cant make this store work none of them will.
What 2 SoCal stores??
Isn’t Eddie only allowed to close 3 stores a month or something
Can confirm. 2 Kmart’s in So Cal so far
No news of that?
How about telling us what 20.
