It was announced yesterday (July 30th 2019) that the CWA contract extension that was set to expire September 21st, 2019 has been extended yet again, this time until June 19, 2021

What a wonderful union it is. This latest extension just about wiped out all retiree health care for the non-Medicare people.

CWA stands for communication workers of America which is a union that workers in the United States have been represented by for many years. Their history with the company goes back to the Lucent Technologies and AT&T days and even beyond that. The other union that represents Avaya in the U.S. is the IBEW which stands for International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
