No one in their right mind will buy SH. Best to figure out a way to run it with fewest people possible. Lean mean cash producing. Then take all the other bets and move them into their own company, let them succeed on their own merit
what are the chances that TB sells RvBd and keeps aternity? hardware v software. the rest of their portfolio is software. is this really a departure of Riverbed from TB vs aternity from TB. divide by 8/1 sell to newco by 9/1? new hq for aternity is in boston!
Are you saying that TB can pull out any asset from any of its companies in the portfolio and give it to any other company under their control without any paper work or financial remuneration? Or gobble the money when sold?
It depends on how it is structured. Option 1 is newdivison stays under rvbd - sure there is no cash exchanged, option 2 is the new division is separated and promoted under TB as a rvbd-peer. What I am saying is option 2 will require some financial adjustment.

You guys don’t get it. It is a financial exercise to move assets from one book to another. Dem moves from rvbd book to tb book in ex change for cashk. They are diff legal entities.

Why not sell them RVBD while you're at it? TB already owns DEM. Don't spend all those "sale profits" in one plave.
I think we are selling DEM to TB in exchange for a new loan, and thus spin out a new company. If it is eventually sold, The sale profits would be split between TB and RVBD.
