I have a question, maybe someone can answer.
I know that WIN received government money ( tax payers money ) to expand broadband into rural areas. Since WIN is going belly up I wonder if they will have to pay back the tax payer dollars that they took? It gets me made that my tax money is being used to give tt a nice bonus. Also, who is this 'hi voltage' I read about in some of these posts?

If you see evidence of stealing from the government and you turn whistle blower, you may be entitled to a portion of the restitution proceeds.
Of course, Windstream is bankrupt. But then again, government claims often take priority over any other creditor claims, so bankruptcy may not protect Windstream from having to pay back the government and pay penalties.
This is a tricky area, but there may be serious incentives for folks that help recover taxpayer money.
As a taxpayer and a Windstream customer, I hope you go for it.
They tried to hide. I worked on some projects to hide the fact that the money wasn't used as intended. I was told. Hush hush. No that's my money too since I'm a tax payer.
So I think they should have to pay back
Is Windstream increasing security for TT and the Gundermans? They do not seem to be very well liked and they do not seem to have any issues with stealing. Complete sociopaths. Just saying
Tell me this does not fit them to a 'T'

Just wait for it. There were funds taken for providing broad band to rural markets that never happened. Specifically earmarked funds for particular markets. It will all be coming into the day light soon.
Yes, they participate in CAF (Connect America Fund). The Gov't puts out an RFC and contract and we bid on it. Your tax $$$ pay for rural telecom.
