"Getting sold this year"
Really right?
Which is the private equity group?
Martel simply has too much debt, makes it a nonstarter as a potential acquisition.
Getting sold this year
What do you mean that he enterprises?
YK Enterprises.
We will see if there will be a sell off or not
No private equity firm is interested in Mattel with the level of debt outstanding. Mattel needs to end the year with a profit before anybody would even consider it. They will squeak by in Q2 barely hitting their numbers and as usual you can be sure they pulled every Q3 sale into Q2 to make it happen. So put off the inevitable for another 3 months when all the sales start to slide and Ynon has to start laying off more people. When Christmas rolls around the kids are going to be asking for LOL Surprise, Frozen and Star Wars toys, not the tired Barbies and Hot Wheels that lack innovation.
Mattel is holding its price range pretty well for a company that is on its way to bankruptcy. I have doubled my short position here and see no reason to buy back shares now. Does anyone here think they are going to beat financials on the 25th ?My guess is there are multiple players keeping mattel up and once they have evened out there loss from 13 they will drop this after hours.
Look to the Investors. They buy and buy

It's funny that so many people think a private equity firm acquisition is imminent. What about Mattel makes it so attractive that a private equity can't wait to buy it out? If you had significant resources would you want to buy Mattel? On top of that what would motivate Ynon to encourage a sale? He doesn't get to be Mr. Hollywood anymore once its sold. I don't see any reason to assume Mattel will be bought. It's all just wishful thinking from those hoping for a dramatic change.
Will ynon make a good price?
