My idea of family has nothing to do with UP.
When you hear the word "family" at work or during a job interview, treat it as a red flag. It almost always means that you will be asked to do things that aren't in the job description without additional compensation.
Seriously, did anybody ever go to this junk except the superintendent, a few mops, the TSC guys, and a few poor saps with nothing else to do? Seems like everyone was always either working or enjoying their few hours before they went back into work. Most people didn’t want their family anywhere near UP.

Latch on to one of your former coworkers. And tell them you are poor waif now. The current UP employee took you in as a dependent, so you and your family can live. What can they do?
