I was hired contract at Ford end of August through Jacobs, Ford is worse than GM and I can't wait to leave once I find another job.

No worries. You will still have a job at Ford.
Contract employees should be OK. Years ago Ford would release contract employees when times were tight. Now they release Ford employees and replace them with contractors.
