Your mess for less in the cloud

More of the same from India

"Analysts said the company is primarily focusing on a combination of capability building and cost reduction and in that context hiring in India makes sense"

Bill Gates says optimal management is 30 to 35 people

Plus this is the same for tribes

Go Goole it

If you can only lead 6 people then you are not a leader

It only makes sense if you understand you pay less you get a lot less How many US can I spend most of my days helping the offshore teams that are certified in the products that they support They know how to take tests but they can’t be but their way out of a wet paper bag

Clearly management of 30 staff is not management, it is just accountability for the group when things go wrong. There is no staff development and it does sound ridiculous that they have to appear to be writing appraisals without any contact.

I had 30 staff when I worked there which was a complete joke as once you go over 12 you can’t really people manage. I’d say the optimum is 6 staff but I guess in these stupid days of flat structures and DXC’s lack of leadership, does anyone care?

@10XbSyou-1fru better still, the manager not being in the same country even as their reports and not actually talking to them even once in a 6 month period, then having to write up an appraisal?

Still with it not actually mattering one jot, I guess its not important.

Does grate my gears though when I basically have to tell him what I've done in the previous 6 months because he literally has zero clue whatsoever.

1 manager responsible for 30+ direct reports, doesn't work, regardless of the country.

Hiring in India came to a dead stop early this year with threats of lots of layoffs such that the Indian government was becoming concerned as so many IT companies were having to reduce the level of investment in there light of high wages making India not as cheap as it used to be, forcing companies to look elsewhere for their resource.

It may make sense, but in India you can find people making good job and people making bad job. It's just a question of pay level.
Do you know which kind of people Mickey will choose to pay for ?
