Less that two days after having a big layoff, overtime is wide open and is Conway management is trying to tempt us. That’s a slap in the face to everyone they laid off. They’re out on the streets trying to figure out how they’re going to make it and the company wants me to work OT. Bull. As a senior guy I could work OT everyday but they can take their OT and shove it.

I don’t know but the last two weeks guys here averaged 20 hrs overtime, and your unions are ok with it! You younger guys are long forgotten.
How many people do yous guys think we have left at Conway now?
All you machinists and electricians out on the streets—the guys love ya! Been working 12-16 hours over time since last week! $$$$$$
When they laid off 40 carmen in Chattanooga 2 years ago, you could get all the overtime you wanted. MOST of us said no, but of course we had a couple s— asses get all they could. They didn't give a c-ap about the men laid off.
There forcing overtime at scx ,before the blood is even dry , refuse forced overtime well you have no job anymore either . The work environment is like walking into a funeral home ...
Nobody ”sold their soul” cupcake.
They knew when they was making the cuts how many people it would leave so how can they mandate a quota or they are shutting place down and will probably be shuttered by jan.2020. and they have to know that hours and shifts will change with such few people left so why aren't the workers informed about any of the changes that are going to happen and why wasn't anyone who was furloughed offered a job within the ns system. and why would they think the few that are left would willingly do overtime when the company furloughed everyone.
Bellevue has been forced overtime since the first round months ago....
There are a bunch of money grabbing sell everyone and everything out for a dollar machinist, electricians, and laborers at scx been doing it since the first furloughs. But that shouldn't surprise anyone that's been at ns. I hope they're proud of selling their soul for a piece of paper. NS has already proven that even if you work it that they will still have another layoff. Look at what happened on Labor Day!
Its just salt on the filthy wound left on us contact employees.
I guess Adrian was right all along about staying Union strong
they told us that if we don’t volunteer for ot that they can schedule us to either come in four hours early or stay over four hours, or they can schedule us six days a week for as long as they see fit. lets see what our unions on the international level do for us. not sure about other shops but most people here are against it, but there are the “i’ll do it boss i’ll save the rail road myself” guys everywhere
They are forcing laborers and machinist at scx to work ot.
