Thread regarding Sears layoffs

12oaks closed before Westland mall so strange

Seems like 12oaks mall would have had more opportunities to sell stuff verses westland but then when you think of the higher clientele in no I when they shop they don’t think sears

Still it’s amazing that Westland is still open

It’s a shame 12 Oaks closed. It was great to park close to a door and cut through to the real stores in the mall. Same with Briarwood.

Westland Mall is still open? I thought it closed and was being torn down.

They don't care about how profitable the stores are. Eddie's plan is to sell the real estate.

12 Oaks Mall is still doing fine, so the store's slot in the mall is valuable. Westland Mall is dying; it's one of those malls where half the stores are vacant. The Sears store there could probably be leased for the change you find under your couch cushions. So, why not keep it open until the end?

actually it makes sense to me. Westland is a more middle class/lower middle class demographic than 12 Oaks.

But it's all moot. I imagine Westland will close soon enough, along with Livonia and the 3 (3!) remaining Kmarts in the state where Kmart was founded.
