Is there any real news out there regarding sept cost cutting? By real news, i mean not all these tired posts from disgruntled employees.

You too will get the ax there are many upset employees that are now without a job and can't afford to take care of their families after working there for 10 years.
And you whoever you are could cold heartedly care less.
Same strategy penny's used and look at them now. Trouble ahead.
They will have to keep discounting or people won’t buy. Customers are used to the discounts and coupons, too late to change now.

What came from the call today? Anybody have information?
Oh trust me, there will be a substantial amount of discounts. They will have to. The fall merchandise is not moving well. This is going to blow up in their face. Too little too late!
The earth shattering announcement is that they are planning to do less discounting and only send coupons to some customers. You may also have the honor while paying more while using self-checkout. Wall Street bumped up on this but sure it will settle down again when they realize its just another yawn. At least no layoffs were mentioned so that the 12 of you still working there may be safe for another month.
Retired long term former employee here......the article states that M plans on saving 400 to 500 million by cutting back on discounts and more targeted marketing.......one change I have noticed......there are only 2 events during the fall season where employees and retirees are offered an additional 10% discount, compared to several last fall 2018. I am very interested in what is said on Friday morning's call.......
What is it about?

North central region, district and all store managers invited to an announcement call Friday morning.
As far as work force reduction, no... As far as hours and supply cutting, travel budgets, non annual increases... Yes.
Post below.......many employees view this site. That does not equate to all unhappy employees. In viewing many of the current and previous posts, More like realistic replies, not sugar coated. Granted, some could be expressed in a more professional way. I think the bottom line here is many agree that Macy's is declining as a reputable retailer......... both to customers and employees alike. I encourage all present employees to start looking for other employment. I have and hopefully I will be able to give notice soon. The writing is on the wall. The stress of waiting for the ax to drop is unbearable.
It is finally glad to hear from one of the 3 happy Macy's employees in the whole company...
bhahahhaha....dont worry, your not that far behind. Now go clean out that fitting room. =)
When?
Yes, not goods news. However, it can not be shared as yet.
