Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel preparing for major layoffs and site closures again?

I was hearing rumors that Intel is looking for another major round of layoffs, mainly in the US so they can ship more work overseas where pay and other costs are lower. It sounds like they will be closing most sites in the US with fewer than 1500 employees in the region, few if any would receive relocation package. It sounds like it's a move to push the server design to India as it's one of the larger expenses on the server platform.

Interesting, when they heavily cut off client sales (channel, RCO etc...) in 2016, management was saying that future of Intel business is DSG and company will focus there. Now, only 3 years later, it is the same story but instead of clients it is DSG who will be heavily laid off. Obviously, there is no recovery for Intel but only new issues all the time in last 3-5 years.
