Virtustream Layoffs

I have been hearing about layoffs in Virtustream. Yesterday, I heard people talking about Layoff in India offices. Can someone please confirm? Anything planned in other geographies?

Anyone know if Dell is just dumping the division and unfortunately everyone who works for it ?
Or are they sending it oveserseas or sending to HCL as they have previously done with divisions ?

Let’s be real. How many net new SAP clients have they in the last 24 months? 4? Anyone know?

Lots of openings because they are always having under-the-radar layoffs of older and/or higher paid employees, as well as offshoring and replacing American workers. Welcome to unfettered capitalism!

At this point, leadership has run the company into the ground- they may as well be sold to Waste Management.

For the second time in less than two months, Dell Technologies is laying off an unspecified number of employees this week as the $92 billion infrastructure giant looks to cut costs.

4 reps and 3 SEs will be gone by October. Supposedly, current headcount is less than 15 Sales reps and 12 SEs in NA...only 4 SEs know SAP

Hopefully they give out more retention bonuses ASAP!

They can’t be doing too bad they paid Joy a couple of million on her way out to join Rory.

Deep layoffs at Dell to get out of debt. Look for another play to sell Virtustream or make it more profitable. Layoffs are definitely coming....

Interesting how Joy split to follow Rory, announces on her LinkedIn that she's the new CMO, before her new gig mentions that she's the new CMO. She was certainly eager to leave!

Fortunately, Drew has been saved! With his magic money-pants at the helm, we're certain for continued lack of leadership, reduced revenue and turnover.

Looks like Rory has taken his exceptional leadership skills and penchant for ties to Vonage. Not that the Virtustream webpage has reflected it yet.

Rory Read is out, a casualty of his poor management decisions that lead to the recent customer "complications". Let's see how far this trickles down, but expect more heads will roll.

No corner turned I’m afraid, recently the company was hacked exposing customers to system issues, hack tied to automation software. The customers were offered reduced fee’s to keep it quiet. VS have let so many people go something like this was bound to happen and with mission critical systems It’s not a great customer experience. One win in the US for healthcare which in the business world is quite small beer due to the number of years it spans. I guess the management can tell themselves they are on the up but customers can see the holes and want out.

If things have turned around, why has the company stopped matching 401K as a benefit now? If things have turned around, why have all the top sales people and engineers left? If things have turned around, why is everyone miserable at this place?

The lying snake, known as Rory, is using C19 to finally sink the ship and cash out his golden handcuffs. Everyone will be fired. You have been warned.

@2tmae+10NJuWFJ "Expect a big announcement in February"

Well here we are, essentially two business days left in Feb. Where is this big announcement?

Dell reports earnings tomorrow. If nothing is announced by then, enjoy your nothing-burger.

@ A_happy_ex — Well let’s remember that SKO is coming up so it’s gonna be all smiles and perhaps the return of Drew’s moneypants. Honestly Healthcare is the only thing they’ve got. Anything on social media is a repeat of last years blogs written by people long gone. Total joke.

Significant number of sales and pre-sales solution architects let go in North America in the last couple of weeks. Sales people have no pipeline, and some being told don't worry about selling anything. People bailing out (resigning) as well. I'm hearing that Drew told one sales person that in 2 months they would have wished they didn't resign. Whatever that means.

Another round hit the security team yesterday. This is just opinion or more like informed speculation, but I don't think a sale is happening. The overall headcount must be well below 800 now, and I think Rory is stuck with a lame horse.

One rumor I heard is that the Atlanta office will be vacated in May and either given back to the landlord or turned into a dark lease (a tax write-off strategy that involves keeping the lease but kicking all the people out.) Most of those employees have already been WFR'd anyways so it is a tax write-off waiting to happen.

I am curious, as an ex-employee, what kind of blarney is being dished out by Rory to the rank and file, given that the end appears to be finally here for Virtustream. Is he still sticking to his forecast of Q1 profitability? Is that bonus coming up in March going to get cut again like last year?

Anybody still sticking around past March has to be either crazy or on a retention contract with incentives to be able to bear the misery.

It appears that a sale is indeed imminent. Does anyone have more info on which teams were impacted by WFR yesterday?

We all know the FOD - Friends of Drew -are taken care of. Massive line of ethics crossed here by given customers the car salesman pitch knowing the ship is sinking. This is the typical case studies you learn of what NOT to do. Glad I was there for a few mere months.

The problem with the "slash and burn" approach to profitability is it leaves a hollowed out organization behind. The only managers left are those that are good at navigating the internal politics, not at doing their jobs. Add in the reality that most of the good engineers who can find other jobs have long since bolted for less toxic environments, and you're left with a skeleton crew of misfits that might not even be able to "keep the lights on" let alone find work somewhere else. They're just hanging on for the severance.

It will be interesting to see if Rory is able to pull off a sale. I am guessing that word has gotten out on the street about the mess Dell made of Virtustream.
